MANAGING WEIGHT USING FOOD LABELS

I have mentioned this article once before in one of my blogs several years ago, but I thought it was worth repeating since most of us are trying  to recover from  the holidays.

According to the research from the U.S. National Health Interview Study, women who regularly read food labels are, on the average, 9 pounds lighter than those who don’t.  All you have to do is to scan the labels for calories per serving and other nutrients.  If one product has 8 grams of sugar and another brand has 24 grams, you know which one to choose.  (This article appeared on page 52 of the December 2012/January 2013 issue of AARP Magazine.)
