A healthy New Year’s resolution would be to eliminate the hidden sugars in your diet.  Over the past few years, food manufacturers have been adding sugars in many forms to foods that formerly were processed without sugars.  I actually found sugar as an ingredient on the food label of salt.  Unknowingly Americans are consuming more sugar now than ever before.  Therefore, it is important that consumers read all food labels to be aware of the ingredients.  There is an excellent article, “Eat Clean,” on page 90 of the January 2014 issue of Prevention magazine relating to the adverse effect that sugar has on  our health.
